TV Broadcast News - Arcadia & FreeSpeak Cell

6/1/2026

A mid-to-large broadcast studio will often have multiple production studios and Outside Broadcasting (OB) trucks. Arcadia’s broad capabilities with both wired and wireless communications makes it a very good choice for both home and remote broadcast production. And with FreeSpeak Cell beltpacks extending intercom access over cellular networks, crews can stay connected from virtually anywhere, without additional infrastructure, supporting flexible and scalable live production workflows.

Application Notes

The main broadcast studio uses an Eclipse HX Median frame, supporting V-Series IrisX Keypanels, FreeSpeak wireless systems, and Virtual Clients like Agent-IC and Station-IC. Communications extend over IP via LQ to an OB truck equipped with an Arcadia Central Station, enabling local panel and wireless operation while remaining fully integrated with the studio. The truck is outfitted with FreeSpeak II wireless beltpacks. For remote deployment, crew members deploying a Remote Fly Kit use FreeSpeak Cell beltpacks operating over cellular networks to maintain reliable, real-time intercom access, supporting all aspects of remote production from coordination to IFB delivery.
