From Theaters and Performing Arts Centers to Concert Halls, Studios and Broadcasters, production crews have used intercom to deliver live entertainment and news to viewers all around the world. The early days of these intercom systems began with analog partyline. Due to their simplicity, dependability and rugged design, many of these systems are still being used today. Clear-Com employs a single 3-pin XLR cable per channel (two cables for two channels) versus the two channels of analog partyline on a single 3-pin XLR cable which TW utilizes. Each system has its own costs and benefits, but each can connect together to form a comprehensive intercom system.
Clear-Com Two-Channel Partyline Conversion to TW
The TWC-703 adapter converts two (2) Clear-Com partyline signals from an Encore main station or power supply to a dual channel TW partyline. The device translates the call signal from a Clear-Com DC call into a TW AC call, therefore allowing a Clear-Com system to communicate with TW systems such as Clear-Com RS-703 beltpacks or RTS user stations with full call signal on both channels. Power and termination are carried through the TWC-703 from a Clear-Com device. The 550mA can power roughly 12 RS-703 beltpacks.
Clear-Com Two-Channel Partyline Conversion to TW with Power Injection
The TWC-703 adapter can also be used with a separately purchased external PSU power supply*. Eliminating the power needed to supply the TWC-703 and connected devices allows the main station's power to be allocated to additional devices giving the user a larger intercom system. The power injected TWC-703 converts two (2) Clear-Com partyline signals from and Encore MS-702 main station to a dual channel TW partyline. The device translates the call signal from a DC call into a TW AC call, therefore allowing a Clear-Com system to communicate with TW systems such as Clear-Com RS-703 beltpacks or RTS devices. The 550mA from the injected TWC-703 can power roughly 12 beltpacks.
