Matrix Frame Architecture

  • Eclipse CPU and Audio interface cards communicate on the frame's TDM backplane using a proprietary serial protocol that passes requests and instructions from the cards.
  • Eclipse Audio interface cards make its audio inputs available on the frame's TDM backplane using PCM audio and receives from its other card inputs for mixing to its outputs.
  • Eclipse CPU controller cards communicate externally to the configuration computer or control system via a serial network interface.
  • Eclipse Audio interface cards communicate externally on their own dedicated interfaces. Externally each card is an individual clock domain and does not bridge to other cards.
  • No network connections are shared or bridged between cards.

Matrix Frame E-MADI Card Capacity

Delta Lite: 2

Delta: 4

Median: 7

Omega: 7

Maximum number of each card type in matrix frame type. Not including bundled cards. For reference only. Customer's frame configuration should be validated for 1) timeslots / ports, 2) card power draw. See Eclipse HX Power Calculator.

E-MADI Card Capacity

Ports per card: 16, 32, 56, 64 @ 44.1, 48kHz - 32 @ 96kHz

Connectors

MADI: (2) BNC-F (In/Out) 75 Ohm, (1) SFP-Multimode SFP (Supplied)

Clock: (1) BNC-F (In) 75Ohm

Note: While mechanically identical, SFPs are designed with different properties for data rates, power and fiber cable type. Please refer to the Clear-Com SFP Compatibility Chart for compatible SFP transceivers.

Note: MADI SFP inputs have priority, switching to BNC if no SFP input is detected. BNC and SFP outputs are always active with identical outputs.
