To Our Valued Customers,
Vitec Group Communications, under its brands Clear-Com Communications and Drake, has developed its Mission statement, “By delivering to our customers innovative Intercom solutions and superior service we will grow technically and geographically into a world-wide, world renowned organization” based on sound business imperatives. The Environmental Policy is one such fundamental.
Vitec Group Communications is committed to the continual improvement of its environmental performance by using materials, processes and procedures, which will prevent, minimise or control any adverse impact that our products or services may have on our environment.
Vitec Group Communications is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations, including the European Union's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directives. We will use our best endeavours to ensure that our products conform to the legislation on the date that it becomes effective in the United Kingdom.
WEEE Directive (2002/96/EC)
The WEEE Directive applies to companies that manufacture, sell, distribute, recycle or treat electrical and electronic equipment to consumers in the European Union. It includes IT, Telecommunications, and radio and audio equipment. The Directive aims to reduce the waste arising from electrical and electronic equipment and to improve the environmental performance of all those involved in the life cycle of these products.
The implementation date for the WEEE Directive may vary in each country of the EU; currently the UK has not set a date.
RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC)
The RoHS Directive affects manufacturers, sellers, distributors and recyclers of electrical and electronic equipment and imposes limits on the amount of Lead, Hexavalent Chromium, Mercury, Polybrominated Biphenyl (PBB), Polybrominated Diphenyl Ether (PBDE), and Cadmium contained in the product.
The RoHS Directive was passed into law by the EU and comes into force on 1st July 2006 in all member states.
Vitec Group Communications has prepared itself for the implementation of these Directives through a programme of improvement to ensure that products that do not already meet the requirements do so at the appropriate time. This has involved much discussion with the supply base, both to ensure availability of compliant parts and to minimise any adverse impact on the quality and reliability of our products. There has also been a significant Engineering activity in re-design to overcome potential supply issues of compliant components.
Vitec Group Communications is committed to complying with all applicable National and International regulations whilst maintaining continuance of supply to our Valued Customers.
