At sports stadiums all over the world, there is an expectation that the entertainment in the building is equal to the game itself. The carefully coordinated fan experience can start with an aircraft flyover and continue with giant video screen games, crowd shots and game replays and highlights - all interlaced with the action on the field.
How It Works
The matrix system allows users to communicate in a point-to-point methodology through panels and wireless beltpacks deployed throughout a stadium. An IP interface also allows the matrix system to connect staff on IP phone systems, two-way radios and mobile devices. Additionally, with wireless transceivers placed throughout the venue, mobile camera staff and talent can communicate through wireless beltpacks on a robust 5GHz frequency band.
Application Notes
The Eclipse HX-Delta matrix frame carries point-to-point communication over network gigabit switches to individual panels at static positions. The LQ Series IP interface extends communication to 3rd party communication devices like IP phones and two-way radios. The E-IPA network card also allows for eight licenses of the Agent-IC mobile app. Agent-IC works on any iOS or leading Android device - it gives users a multi-channel virtual panel that can take a signal from Wi-Fi, LTE and 3G transmitters. The addition of FreeSpeak Edge to the system allows for mobile staff to communicate from anywhere in the arena.
Communications for Stadium Operations with Rental Comms
Certain types of events may require the need for additional communication equipment. Via the LQ Series IP interface with 4-wire I/O, a digital partyline system can be easily added to the existing communications infrastructure. HelixNet leverages the same IP network switches as the matrix frame and can be powered via Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). Providing endpoints such as beltpacks, speaker stations and desktop options, HelixNet easily increases the scale of an existing IP communication infrastructure.
