ALAMEDA, USA – August 13, 2024 – Clear-Com® is proud to highlight its support for educational institutions through state-of-the-art communication solutions.  These advanced systems are enhancing production quality at St. Dominic High School and Eagan High School, while also providing students with invaluable, hands-on experience using professional-grade tools. These deployments exemplify Clear-Com’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industry practices.

At St. Dominic High School in St. Louis, Technical Director Jake Emge utilized Clear-Com’s  EQUIP® wireless intercom system to manage the audio and visual components of the school’s theater. For the Spring Musical Cinderella, Clear-Com deployed a configuration that included two EQUIP transceivers and five headsets. The system was integrated with a trunked connection to the LQ® Series IP Interface, which communicated via 2-wire to the Encore® Analog Partyline System, and further interfaced with the  Agent-IC® mobile app over WiFi. This setup ensured seamless communication across various stages of the production.

The technical setup comprised an LQ-R 2W4 - 4WG4 rack unit and MS-702, complemented by eight RS-601 beltpacks and Clear-Com one ear headsets. In addition, the communication infrastructure supported a combination of bone-conducting wireless headsets and noise-canceling headphones with boom mics for cellular communication. Notably, the system’s capacity for remote microphone troubleshooting through the soundboard’s app or direct communication with the sound engineer proved crucial for efficient backstage operations. Jake Emge commended the system’s reliability and user satisfaction, stating, “The Clear-Com system facilitated a flawless production environment, allowing us to focus on delivering high-quality performances.”

At Eagan High School, Clear-Com’s FreeSpeak® Edge system was deployed, integrated with Agent-IC and FreeSpeak II wireless technology, to enhance the Broadcast and Theatrical Department workflows. This setup illustrates the system’s capability to deliver high-precision communication and operational efficiency in a high school setting. Paul Saxton, Technical Director from Eagan High School highlighted the transformative impact of the system, saying that “implementing Clear-Com’s FreeSpeak Edge system has not only elevated the quality of our productions but also provided our students with hands-on experience with industry-standard communication tools. This exposure is instrumental in preparing them for future careers in broadcasting and theater production.”

Vic Lombardi, Regional Sales Manager at Clear-Com, facilitated the deployment at Eagan High School and emphasized the company’s dedication to supporting educational institutions. “Clear-Com is dedicated to empowering educational institutions with professional-grade communication solutions. Our systems are designed to provide students with practical experience and insight into the technologies used in the professional world, fostering their skills and preparing them for successful careers.” he noted.
