ALAMEDA, USA – January 15, 2024 – Clear-Com® successfully delivered a high-capacity, secure communication network during the 2024 Street Parade in Zurich, one of the world’s largest techno music festivals. Partnering with MGM Audio AG, Clear-Com provided vital communication tools that helped ensure real-time coordination and operational safety across the event, which attracted over 920,000 attendees.
Held on August 10, 2024, the Street Parade spanned Zurich’s city center, posing unique challenges for communication across large, densely populated areas. Clear-Com’s Gen-IC® virtual intercom system, known for its IP-based capabilities, robust signal integrity, and flexibility, was deployed to support reliable communication for teams stationed throughout the city.
Gen-IC played a key role in facilitating tactical coordination, including the ability to issue real-time announcements and updates from a loudspeaker van across distances of up to 5.5 kilometers. This ensured smooth communication between units positioned at various locations within the urban environment.
The system was rigorously tested in both lab and field settings, with load tests using Peplink routers ensuring consistent connectivity during the high-traffic event. Clear-Com’s Agent-IC® mobile app was also used, allowing users to securely communicate on-the-go from remote or mobile locations, improving coordination and situational awareness.
Alexander Hemme, Regional Sales Manager at Clear-Com, commented, “Our solutions are designed for large-scale, public safety applications, where seamless communication is crucial. This deployment demonstrates the adaptability and reliability of Clear-Com technologies in supporting complex, high-density events.”
Cyril Schmuki of MGM Audio AG added, “Clear-Com’s solutions provided the flexibility and dependability needed to manage communications effectively during this large-scale event, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the day.”
