Clear-Com®, a long-time Bay Area manufacturer of intercom systems for broadcasters and theater productions, officially joined the Alameda business community when it held its grand opening at 850 Marina Village Parkway on Thursday, May 3, 2007.

Clear-Com is a market leader in intercom systems, with international users including The BBC Elstree, Asian Games in Doha and the Sydney Olympic Games as well as local users KRON-TV and the San Francisco Opera House.

The company was welcomed by Alameda Chamber of Commerce CEO, Melody Marr, with a ribbon cutting. Clear-Com managing director Matt Danilowicz introduced the Clear-Com business that started in 1968. Clear-Com has been located in San Francisco, Berkeley and Emeryville during its history, before moving this spring to Alameda. It also has design and manufacturing operations in the United Kingdom.Clear-Com is credited with developing the first intercom beltpack, now an industry staple. Currently the company is a leader in development of digital matrix systems, wireless beltpacks and intercom connectivity through fiber optic cable, the Internet and private networks. The company is a Vitec Group plc brand.Following a facility tour, a luncheon was held for Chamber of Commerce members and Clear-Com staff.
